Version 9.37 March 2006
Hotkeys & System Menus
Options from any of the three 'Tooling & Gauging' menus can now be added to your 'favourites' menu.
The full list of programs obtainable by pressing 'Ctrl+F12' has been changed from an alphabetical list to a 'tree' structure. This follows the structure of the main system menu and so makes it easier to find the exact program you want to run. The tree can also be opened by clicking on the new 'FactoryMaster Logo' icon on the toolbar at the top of the screen.System Audit
The system audit has been expanded to include the 'Quote Operations', 'Quote Header', 'Quote Details' & 'Works Order Kitting' system areas.
The main 'Audit Menu' screen has also been updated to categorise audited elements of the system in a 'tree' view, thus allowing easier navigation.Export Manager
Two new 'sales order' exports (detailed and summary) have been added to the export manager.Supplier Details Print
The 'Supplier Details' print has been updated to allow the inclusion of 'deleted' suppliers.Supplier Price Screen
A new field has been added to this screen to allow the user to record comments against each supplier's price details.Location Maintenance
This screen now uses the same routine to move raw material stock to a different location as the main 'Raw Material Enquiry' view.Stocked Part Barcodes
An error which prevented the barcodes defined against a stocked part from being edited or removed has been corrected.Stock Reports Menu
The 'Export Stocked Part Codes' option has been removed from this menu. This simply exported all part numbers and their descriptions - functionality which is now included on other more flexible exports (e.g. the export of stocked parts available from the 'Print' option of 'Stocked Parts Maintenance').Daily Transactions Report
The 'Daily Transaction' report has been enhanced to include a part number range, a sub sort / group by transaction category and the ability to show stock values.Stock Expiry
The system now has tighter controls over the issue and sale of stock which has expired, or is close (as defined by the control flag 'EXPIRY_DATE_DAYS_BEFORE') to its expiry date. Users without permission to the new user access item 'Issue Expired Stock' will be prevented from issuing, selling or allocating this stock. Users with permission will be warned, but will be allowed to override the warning. Similar controls have also be added to the issue and movement of stock in 'Quarantine' and 'Scrap' locations.
Stock will be deducted from the MRP report according to its expiry date, the setting of the control flag described above and the lead time of the part (if applicable).
A new report showing the remaining 'Shelf Life' of batches with expiry dates has also been added.Stocktake Reports
An option to range on a particular stock type (BI/MA) has been added to the stocktake reports.Assemblies
Assembly Maintenance has been updated to allow two more user defined comments to be added to each assembly component. Users can define the name / title of each of the three fields via control flag settings. The Assembly Report now includes options to show any (or all) of the three user defined fields, and also the 'notes / comments' defined against the associated stocked part.Works Order Detail
This screen has redesigned to include totals for the many of the time values shown on the 'operations' tab. Associated 'Sales Orders' and 'Purchase Orders' are no longer shown on this screen, but buttons have been added to the main 'Works Order Enquiry' screen to allow quick and easy access to the associated items.Get Route
A new function has been added to allow the system to automatically apply the preferred route to any newly created works order. This is controlled by the control flag 'WO_AUTO_GET_ROUTE'.MRP Trace View
The 'transactions' view of the 'MRP Trace' screen has been redesigned. As well as presenting the transactions in a clearer fashion, the screen now includes a 'running total' column and a summary of the total quantities for each transaction type. This screen is also called when pressing 'F5' in the 'Auto-Create Works Orders' screen.Work To List
This report now takes account of resources which are set to round the operation time.FAIRs
FAIRs have been updated to allow the addition of attached documents.Scrap & Rework Option (CO)
A new optional module allows a user to book 'scrap' and 'rework' against a works order. When a booking is made, an 'internal reject' record is automatically created and the quantity scrapped recorded on the works order record. This scrap quantity is then taken into account in all relevant places throughout the system (e.g. the MRP will recognise that a lower quantity is expected from the work order).
When booking scrap, the user is asked how the scrapped quantity should be covered: the system can either (i) increase the quantity on the existing works order, (ii) create a new works order for the quantity scrapped, or (iii) do nothing. If the third option is chosen and the quantity is still required then the user will either have to raise a replacement works order manually, or else use the MRP to suggest a replacement.
FactoryMaster now uses the following terminology throughout the system:Launch Quantity - previously called 'Quantity Required', 'Quantity Planned', 'Works Order Quantity' or sometimes just 'Quantity'.
Quantity Made - not changed.
Quantity Scrapped - the quantity that has been scrapped on rejects created with this new option.
Quantity Re-Launched - any quantity scrapped, but then covered by choosing option (i) above. Note that the 'launch' quantity is NOT increased.
Forecast Quantity - equal to 'Launch Quantity' - 'Quantity Scrapped' + 'Quantity Re-Launched'. This represents the total quantity that it is expected you will make on this works order (including any you have already made). If the 'Scrap & Rework' option is not turned on this will be the same as the 'Launch Quantity'.
Outstanding Quantity - equal to 'Forecast Quantity' - 'Quantity Made'. This represents the quantity that is still outstanding on the works order.
The cost of any scrap and rework is recorded on the reject note. The cost of scrap is the current unit cost from 'Job Costing', multiplied by the quantity being scrapped. The cost of rework is updated by a user booking either materials or time to the reject note.
Any Internal Reject booked with this module turned off (or before this module was activated) will still work in the same way as with previous versions. These rejects will NOT affect the works order quantity and it will NOT be possible to book costs to re-work against them - even when the module is turned on. Additionally, some of the new reports will not include these 'manual' rejects as the format in which their data is stored is different to that of the new records.Scrap PPM (CO)
This new 'Parts Per Million' option is part of the 'Scrap & Rework' option described above. This compares the 'quantity scrapped' against the 'launch quantity' of the works order for each month (using the required date on the works order) in a similar way to the 'Customer' & 'Supplier' PPM options. It includes a screen view, a print (both simple and detailed) and a graph option.Cost of Internal Rejects (CO)
This report is part of the 'Scrap & Rework' option described above. It reports on the cost of scrap and rework raised through this option. N.B - the report will not include any records created with the module turned off, or before the activation of the module.Internal Reject Note
If a reject was created using the new 'Scrap & Rework' option then its reject note will include a barcode which, in future versions, will allow the booking of time to rework from a data capture terminal.Cost Of WIP
A new option has been added to this report to value the WIP by planned costs.New SQL Access User
A new user ('FMVIEWWRITER') has been added to the SQL database. This user has similar privileges to the 'FMREPORTS' user, with additional capabilities to create user-defined functions & user-defined views.
