Version 9.27  May 2005  (9.28 was internal release only)

  • 'Who's On The System?'
The view of 'Who's On The System' (accessed by pressing Ctrl+W) is now updated correctly if a user has crashed out of FactoryMaster. For this reason the 'Log Out User' button has been removed, as have the 'Last Updated' date and time fields as these were simply an indicator of whether the user was likely to still be genuinely logged in.

  • Quote Maintenance
It is now possible to create a quote WITHOUT viewing a range or quotes first. When going into the screen just press F4 on the 'QuickBar' to create a new quote.

  • Quote Resource Markup By Customer
It is now possible to override the quote markup % entered against a resource code by customer. Pressing 'F5' on the quote markup field in 'Resource Maintenance' shows a list of customers along with the markup % that should be applied for that customer. Any Customer where no override has been entered will receive the default markup as entered on the main 'Resource Maintenance' screen.

  • RTF Quote Letter
A new flag (<MG_QUOTE_DATE_SUB>) can be included on the letter to show the date the quote was submitted to the customer. New tags have also been added to allow the customer contact (<MG_CONTACT_NAME>) and their position (<MG_CONTACT_POSITION>) to be printed separately.

  • Create Sales Order From Quote
This option has now been updated to allow the user to create call-offs for 'detailed' sales orders. All call-offs will initially be created with the same requirement date, but these can subsequently be altered by the user if required.

  • Customer Maintenance
It is now possible to create a customer WITHOUT viewing a range of customer records first. When going into the screen just press F4 on the 'QuickBar' to create a new record.

  • Price List Maintenance
Changes made in this screen are now audited.
In previous versions this screen could take a long time to open on some sites. This has now been speeded up. A 'QuickBar' will be added to this screen in the next version.

  • Sales Order Maintenance
A new 'detailed' view option has been added to this screen. When the user ticks the 'Detail' tick box on the 'QuickBar' the view will go to one of two detailed views -  either at 'Order Item Level' (one line per item on the order) or at 'Call-Off Level' (one line per call-off on the order). The default view can be set on a 'user by user' basis using 'My Preferences'.

  • Sales Order Reports
An option has been added to show the 'Customer Reference' instead of the 'Internal Order Number' on this report. The report range is always by the 'Internal Order Number' no matter which option is chosen.

  • Picklist Maintenance
The Picklist Maintenance screen now has a 'QuickBar' to allow users to find the picklist they want quickly and easily. The look of this screen has also been improved.

  • Picklist Allocations By Customer Report
This report now has the option to range on 'Product Group' and on 'Part Number'.

  • Delivery Notes
The RTF delivery note now correctly shows multiple serial numbers.

  • Invoices
Invoice style 20 has been added.
The RTF invoice can now include serial numbers if required.

  • Sales Analysis Export
This export now includes the 'Product Group', 'Standard Cost', 'Internal Order Number' and 'Customer Order Number', and allows the user to range the export on the 'Product Group'.

  • Sales Margin Report
An export option has been added to this report.

  • Supplier Maintenance
It is now possible to create a supplier WITHOUT viewing a range of supplier records first. When going into the screen just press F4 on the 'QuickBar' to create a new record.

  • Printing Multiple Purchase Orders
A control flag 'PRINT_MULTIPLE_PO' has been added to allow the user to print multiple purchase orders at a time. If this control flag is set to 'YES' the user will be asked if they want to print just one or multiple purchase orders. If they choose 'multiple' a table will appear into which they can enter all the purchase order numbers to be printed. When all have been entered the print button on this table will cause them all to be printed.

  • RTF Purchase Orders
The RTF purchase orders now have the option to separate the 'Fax' and 'Telephone' numbers from the main body of the address. Please see the tag list for details.

  • Order By Supplier
This screen now colour codes the 'Current Stock' field to indicate if it is below the 'minimum' or above the 'maximum' stock levels.

  • Purchase Order Invoice Matching
At the request of customers the 'Invoice Date' is no longer pre-filled with today's date. This forces the user to think about the date and not accidentally forget to change it.

  • Default Locations On Stocked Parts
There are now TWO default locations for a stocked part. The 'Default Receipt Location' is used when receiving goods, and the Default Issue Location' for 'auto-issuing' stock. In existing customer data both will have been set to value of the old 'Default Location' field.

  • Goods Received
In some circumstances the option to issue stock directly to a works order was not available when it should have been. This has now been corrected.

  • Stock Valuation Report
There is now an option to include the stock description on this report. If the option is ticked the report will print in 'landscape' mode to allow room for the description.

  • Raw Material Enquiry
This screen has been SUBSTANTIALLY REDESIGNED. The Raw Material Enquiry is now in line with the look and design of other parts of the system and has a very similar layout to Stocked Parts.
A 'QuickBar' lets you search for the materials you want. This bar is slightly different to others in the system in that it has a 'FIND' button at the beginning. This 'FIND' button allows the user to add more advanced search criteria than those on the main 'QuickBar'
The main view shows all materials that exist, with tabs to show different details about them. Pressing F5 on a part will list all the batches, locations and transactions for that material (in a very similar way to the way 'stocked part' batches are displayed).
The 'My Preferences' on the first screen allows the user to define how the screen should appear by default for their username. This includes the option to show the 'FIND' screen by default - thus allowing easy search by criteria such as 'Batch Number'.

  • Forecast Stock
The 'description' of the part in question is now shown in the title bar.

  • Resource Maintenance
On some sites resource maintenance was taking a very long time to open since the move to the SQL database. This has now been speeded up and a 'QuickBar' added. The 'By Group' view has been removed as this can be re-created by ranging the view on 'Resource Group' in the 'QuickBar'.

  • Drawing Issue Control
It is now possible to control the issue and movement of drawings. This is optional and will only be available if the control flag 'DRAWING_REGISTER_CONTROL' is set to 'YES'.
With this option on users will no longer be able to just change the quantity of a drawing and will instead need to add more copies of the drawing through a new screen and remove them through another screen. If the storage location of a drawing moves then a new screen will allow the user to specify where the drawing is moving to and how many copies of the drawing are moving. These new options allow a drawing to be issued/returned to a works order, employee, workshop or to an 'other' issue.

  • Manufacturing Maintenance
Some sites have seen 'phantom' operations when creating a new route. These operations then disappeared when you started adding the real operations. This has now been corrected and the 'phantom' operations should no longer show.

  • Manufacturing Instructions
When entering a tooling description on manufacturing instructions (including works orders instructions, and quote operations) the tooling field now accepts more characters (40).

  • Works Order Enqiury
The date ranges on the 'Quick Bar' of this screen have always been dates UPTO the specified date. This has now been clarified on screen by the inclusion of a <= symbol in the range.

  • Works Order Goods In
It is now possible to book manufactured goods made on a works order into stock even when an employee is booked onto the works orders in Data Capture.

  • Modify Multiple Works Orders
This program now has an option to update the date on the children with the parent works order.

  • Route Cards
Route Card 0 has been added. This is an RTF route card which allows the user to define the layout using an RTF editor (such as WordPad or Microsoft Word).
Route Card 14 has been modified so that if the control flag 'CHECK_FOR_FAIR' is set to YES the style will check to see if a valid FAIR record exists for the part and, if not, print that one is required on the card.
Route Card 34 has been modified to show the 'Drawing Number' and also the 'Alternative Description' and 'Sales Order Line Comments' from the FIRST linked sales order. If there are multiple linked sales orders then only one will be shown.
Route Card 35 has been completed.

  • Scheduling
It is now possible to LOCK a works order into place on the schedule. If this is done the works order will NOT be moved when scheduling is re-run and will keep its original place. In works order enquiry a padlock symbol represents if the works order is locked or not. An open padlock shows that the works order is moveable in the schedule, a closed padlock shows that it is locked in place. To lock or unlock a works order click on the padlock to toggle the setting.

When running a schedule using the 'Pro-Rata For Completed Parts' option FactoryMaster will now use the quantity completed on the works order for the pro-rata IF this is bigger than the quantity completed on the operations. This allows sites who do not fill in the quantity on the operations to still use this option.

  • Authorised Hours Report
An export option has been added to this report.

  • Employee Pay Report
An export has been added to this report.

  • Print Timesheet
An option has been added to this print to allow already entered data to be printed on the report - rather than just a blank time sheet for the user to fill in.
