Version 10.07

Release Notes For Version 10.07

System Tasks

System tasks can now be associated with works orders.

Margin and Markup

A new control flag 'PROFIT_MARGIN/MARKUP' is used to determine if FactoryMaster shows profit as 'Margin' or 'Markup'. Although not currently implemented in all areas of FactoryMaster, the following places will now show the selected option:

·                     The 'Unit Cost' column in quotations

·                     The 'Quote Margin/Markup' screen that can be zoomed to from the 'Unit Cost' column. The titles on this screen will change appropriately and the entered values will be applied in the appropriate way.

·                     The 'Quote Margin/Markup' report. This will change titles appropriately and show the appropriate percentage.

·                     Profit figures on the 'Sales Price List'. These are now displayed and calculated in the appropriate way.

·                     When calculating sales prices from either the cost price or the standard cost the percentage entered will be applied as either a markup or a margin depending on the control flag.

·                     'Customer List Prices' report, 'Sales Price/Cost' report, 'Customer Discount' report and the 'Customer Specific Price' report all show profit using the appropriate calculations.

·                     Simple sales orders will show either the margin or the markup in the profit field depending on this control flag, as will the 'Sales Order Analysis' available from here.

·                     'Sales Margin/Markup' report will now show the appropriate title and use the appropriate calculations.

Sales Order Maximum Value

It is now possible to enter a 'maximum order value' which is allowed on a sales order. Only users with the access code 'Sales Order Max Value' will be able to set figure. If set, the system will prevent the order from exceeding this value.

Sales Order Attachments

Associated files / documents can now be associated with a sales order.

Purchase Order Acknowledgements

The 'Purchase Order Maintenance' screen has been amended to show additional information regarding the 'acknowledged' status of your purchase orders. Colour coding on this screen will now highlight if the supplier has acknowledged a date LATER than your original requirement.

It is also now possible to sort the main screen by the earliest requirement date.

In addition to this, a red exclamation mark will be shown against any pending purchase order if any item on it is still outstanding and overdue.

Raw Material Valuation Report

This report now correctly uses the 'Stock Values' setting from the default currency when displaying values.

Route Card Style Override

Within manufacturing instructions and works orders a new option has been added which allows the user to override the default route card style used when the manufacturing instruction / works order is printed.

Verbose 'Get Route'

The control flag 'SWO_GEN_AUTO_GET_ROUTE' has been combined with the existing control flag 'WO_AUTO_GET_ROUTE' to provide the same functionality over more areas of the system.

The 'WO_AUTO_GET_ROUTE' control flag now has 3 options, controlling what will occur when a works order is created:

1) 'No Get Route' - A route will NOT be automatically applied when works orders are created.

2) 'Get Route -  Silent' - A route will automatically be applied to the works orders when created. The user will NOT be prompted.

3) Get Route - Verbose' - A route will automatically be applied to the works orders when created, and the user will be presented with a results screen and the option to print any new route cards.

MRP

The exclusion of 'free issue' stock and requirements now applies to ALL areas of the MRP, including batches of existing stock, assembly components and works order components.

Replacement of Inspection Check Sheets for Operations

These options have been replaced by the new expanded options on the Dimension Inspection Reports (see below).

The Inspection Check sheets that print with the route card are still available, but their data now comes from the Dimension Inspection records and there is a new style of sheet that can print. If RC_INSP_CHECK_REPORT_TYPE is set to 'Dimension Insp' then the print with the route card will match the dimension inspection print.

Expansion of Dimension Inspection Records

Several changes have been made to 'Dimension Inspection' records within FactoryMaster. These include...

·                     Multiple checks can now be done as part of one report. An 'Inspection Frequency' can be entered against a part in stocked parts and this will be used to default the number of checks. For example, if a part has frequency of 1/5 then a report for a works order with a quantity of 20 will default to 4 checks.

·                     The control flag DIMINS_FORCE_FULL_CHECKS can be used to force the entry of data in all checks before exiting the screen.

·                     Reports can be made against individual operations as well as works orders. If these exist they can be accessed from the 'Inspection' column on the works order operations as well as from the 'Dimension Inspection Report' maintenance screen.

·                     Reports now include the employee and inspector for the report.

·                     Templates can be created, either from scratch, copied from another template or copied from an existing report.

·                     Templates for routes/operations can be created. There can only be one template for a given route/operation (these are applied automatically when 'Get Route' is run in the same way as the older inspection checks which they replace). These operation templates can be access by pressing F5 on the 'Inspection' column on a manufacturing route as well as from the template maintenance.

·                     If RC_INSP_CHECK_REPORT_TYPE is set to the older styles of 1 or 2 then a button to re-print them without the route card is available from either the Dimension Inspection report detail or the template detail.

·                     The title of the first column 'Drawing Grid Ref' can now be altered using the user defined column title of 'DIM_INSP_REF'

·                     The control flag DIMINS_TOLERANCE_ENTRY determines how tolerance is entered. This can either be one field or a 'From' and 'To' style.

·                     There is now an 'OK' tick box on each check.

·                     The control flag DIMINS_SHOW_EQUIPMENT determines if a 'Equipment Required' column is included.

Product Improvement Reports

The ability to authorise product improvement reports can now be given to users who do not have full access to FactoryMaster. This can be done with the user access flag 'Authorise PIR'.

Booked Absence Report

The report now includes an option to include 'part shift' absences as well as 'full shift absences'.

Job Costing

It is now possible to turn off the automatic posting of job costing records that happens when a FactoryMaster session is left idle. If the control flag AUTO_JOBCOST is set to False then this will no longer happen and if timesheet entries are being created it will be necessary to run the option manually from the 'Analysis' menu.

Time Recording

Users of the 'Data Capture' screen now have the ability to log onto an operation by first selecting a resource code, and then selecting the operation from a list of works order using that resource.

The control flag 'DC_RESOURCE_LOGON' enables this option. If the control flag 'MULTIPLE_BOOKING' is also set then the user can select several operations for that resource at the same time.

Setting the control flag 'DC_ON_SCREEN_KEYBOARD' to 'Yes' will display an icon which the user can press to bring up an 'on-screen keyboard', allowing the entry of employee references and works order numbers without the use of barcodes.
