Hints & Tips

Running Parallel Processes

If you are in any part of the system and you want to check something elsewhere without closing the current operation. If you press Ctrl + F12, a RUN menu will open with a map of the whole system. This will allow you to open any window, complete/check what you require and then go back to the originial screen.

Bing toolbar installed - Ctrl M stopped working

If you have installed the Bing toolbar, it steals the mapping key for Ctrl + M. This is a global steal and will affect any other programs you have that uses Ctrl + M. Even if you have your web browser shut, it will still affect this key mapping.

The only solution to solve this is to uninstall the tool bar - Microsoft are aware of this flaw and a potential fix could be in their pipeline.

Target Customer Profile - (TCP)

To set up this control flag, you need to do the following:

  • 'System Maintenance'
  • System Settings
  • Control File
  • Type in Flag required - 'TCP_Details'
  • Set YES on the 'Sales Order Category'

Once you have set this up you will need to create the profile criteria that you want to mark against your customers:

  • 'System Maintenance'
  • 'System Settings'
  • 'Sales System Settings'
  • 'TCP Maintenance'

From the TCP maintenance screen you are then able to define the various options on how you want to group your customers - Location, industry, size etc. Once these fields are all set up, you can then go into customer maintenance and against your customers you can select the options that they meet. This is how the TCP score is generated and can be used in management decisions on how you are going to deal with specific groups of customers.
